An atelier for editorial photography.

Shaima Alattas Photography Studio is a luxury editorial photography practice based in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Founded and operated by Shaima Anwar Alattas, the studio occupies a visual territory closer to a Parisian fashion atelier or a contemporary art gallery than a conventional commercial studio.

Every commission begins with a conversation about mood and intent. Light is shaped slowly, subjects are styled with editorial restraint, and the final archive is delivered as a curated body of work rather than a sequence of frames.

Commissions & Booking.

Every commission begins with a private consultation. Sessions are styled, art-directed, and edited as a complete editorial work. Reserve your date with a 25% deposit; the remaining 75% is settled in studio on the day of your session.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

A few things clients commonly ask before their first session. Anything else, the studio is one message away.

How far in advance should I book a session?

Studio dates open three to six weeks ahead. Graduation season (May–July) and the December holidays fill earliest — reserve as soon as your date is firm. Same-week availability is occasionally possible; message the studio directly.

What does my session deposit cover, and is it refundable?

The 25% deposit secures your date and the studio's preparation time. It is fully credited against your final balance on session day. Cancellations more than 7 days before the session are refunded in full; cancellations within 7 days forfeit the deposit. Rescheduling once at no charge is always permitted.

How and when do I pay the remaining balance?

The remaining 75% is settled in studio on the day of your session via POS (Mada, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or cash). A ZATCA-compliant VAT invoice is issued at the same time.

What is included in each session?

Every commission includes the session time, art direction, professional lighting, and a private online gallery. Editing scope, number of final retouched images, and delivery timeline vary by session type — these are confirmed in writing during your pre-session consultation.

When do I receive my photos?

A curated preview gallery is shared within 7 working days. Fully retouched final images are delivered within 14–21 working days, depending on session scope. Express delivery is available on request.

Do you photograph on location or only in studio?

Both. The Jeddah studio is the default; location sessions are available within the city, and travel outside Jeddah is quoted per project. Enterprise campaigns frequently take place on location with full pre-production.

What should I bring and wear?

A pre-session brief is shared after booking with a styling guide tailored to your session. As a rule: bring two to three changes, avoid loud patterns, and arrive with hair and makeup already done unless you've arranged on-site styling.

Will my photos be published online?

Only with your written consent. A separate Photo Release is signed before publication. Private commissions remain private. Clients who wish to keep their work entirely off the studio's portfolio and social channels are welcomed without question.
