Accessibility
Shaima Alattas Photography Studio is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technologies or rely on keyboard navigation.
Our standard
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Where any element of this site falls short, we treat that as a defect to be fixed.
What this site does
- Provides a skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Uses semantic HTML landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer) so screen readers can navigate. - Uses descriptive alternative text on every meaningful image.
- Supports full keyboard navigation for menus, buttons, the language toggle, and the booking flow.
- Maintains a colour-contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text against the cream background.
- Respects the visitor's
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting and disables non-essential animation accordingly. - Provides full Arabic (right-to-left) layout in parallel with English, with a one-click language toggle.
- Scales cleanly from 320 pixel-wide phones to large desktops without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
The portfolio gallery relies on visual review and is partly unsuitable for users with no vision; alternative text is provided per image but cannot replicate the editorial experience of the work. We are working to add longer descriptive captions for representative images.
