This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the Shaima Alattas Photography Studio website uses, what data they collect, and how you can change your preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let the site remember your preferences (e.g. your language choice), keep you signed in across pages of a booking flow, and — with your consent — measure how the site is used.

2. The cookies we use

The site uses two categories of cookies:

Essential cookies: required for the site to function. These remember (a) your language choice between English and Arabic and (b) your cookie-banner choice so we don't keep showing it. They are set automatically because the site cannot operate without them.
Analytics: we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service hosted in the EU. It does not set persistent cookies, does not collect personal data, does not track you across sites, and does not build a user profile. We use it to understand which sessions are most popular and how visitors find the site.

3. Third-party cookies

We do not load any third-party advertising or marketing cookies. The site embeds the following third-party services only on demand:

Calendly — loaded only when you tap "Pay & Reserve". Calendly may set its own cookies; see the Calendly Privacy Notice.
Payment gateway — loaded only at checkout. The gateway may set cookies necessary for fraud prevention and 3-D Secure authentication.
Instagram (Behold.so) — the Instagram feed is loaded only when you scroll to it. Behold serves the embed without third-party cookies in its default configuration.

4. Managing your preferences

You can change your choice at any time:

Re-open the cookie banner by clearing site data for shaimaalattas.com in your browser.
Block cookies entirely via your browser settings — note that essential cookies cannot be blocked without breaking the language toggle and booking flow.
Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control setting — we honour both.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if the cookies we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
