[REVIEW BY LEGAL COUNSEL] — These Terms are a working draft to anchor the booking flow. Final wording, dispute-resolution clauses, and liability limits must be reviewed and approved by a Saudi-qualified lawyer before publication.

These Terms govern the booking of any photography commission with Shaima Alattas Photography Studio ("the Studio"). By paying the 25% deposit you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

1. The commission

A commission is the agreement between you and the Studio to deliver a specific photography session of a specific type, on a specific date, at the price stated on this website (or as otherwise quoted in writing). The session type, duration, deposit, and final balance are confirmed before payment.

2. Booking process

You select a session and pick an available time slot via the Studio's scheduling system.
You pay a non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of the session price through our payment gateway.
Once payment is confirmed, your date is reserved and you receive a confirmation reference, invoice, and pre-session brief by WhatsApp and email.
The remaining 75% balance is settled in studio on the day of your session via POS terminal (Mada, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or cash). A ZATCA-compliant VAT invoice is issued at the same time.

3. Cancellation, rescheduling, and refunds

More than 7 days before the session: full refund of the deposit, or one free reschedule to a date within 90 days.
Within 7 days of the session: the deposit is forfeited. The session may be rescheduled once at the Studio's discretion subject to a 50% rebooking fee.
No-show: deposit is forfeited and no rescheduling is offered.
Late arrival: the session ends at the originally scheduled time. No discount or extension is offered for late starts caused by the client.
Cancellation by the Studio: in the rare event the Studio must cancel, you will be offered a full refund or a free reschedule, at your choice. The Studio is not liable for any consequential loss.

4. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform where prevented by an event beyond reasonable control — including but not limited to extreme weather, illness affecting the photographer, civil emergency, government order, or failure of essential third-party services. In such cases the session will be rescheduled to the next mutually available date at no additional cost.

5. Image delivery

A curated preview gallery is shared within 7 working days of the session. Fully retouched final images are delivered via private online gallery within 14–21 working days, depending on session scope. Express delivery (within 7 working days) is available at an additional fee, by prior arrangement.

6. Image rights and usage

The Studio retains the copyright in all photographs at all times.
You receive a personal-use licence to view, print, and share final images with family and friends, on your personal social media, for non-commercial purposes only.
Commercial use, resale, or any use by a third party (including media, advertising, or print publication) requires a separate written licence from the Studio and may carry an additional fee.
Use of your photographs in the Studio's portfolio, exhibitions, marketing, or social channels requires your explicit written consent on the Photo Release, which is signed separately. You may decline without affecting your session or the delivery of your images.

8. Payment and taxes

All prices are quoted in Saudi Riyals (SAR). If the Studio is VAT-registered, prices may be quoted exclusive or inclusive of 15% VAT as indicated at the point of sale. VAT is collected on behalf of ZATCA and itemised on every invoice.

9. Liability

The Studio's total liability under any commission is limited to the amount you paid for that commission. The Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Children and minors

Sessions involving minors require the presence and written consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for the safety of the minor on location and in studio.

11. Conduct and right of refusal

The Studio reserves the right to end any session, without refund, where conduct on set becomes abusive, threatening, or unsafe for any person present. The Studio further reserves the right to refuse any commission at its discretion before booking is confirmed.

12. Changes to these Terms

The Studio may amend these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published at shaimaalattas.com/terms.html on the day you pay your deposit.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be referred to the competent courts of Jeddah.
